Ghana is an Anglophone country which means you are good to go if you are a native English speaker or can speak good English. There are beach resorts, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs where you can befriend a travel buddy, especially when going to isolated places.

There are intercity caravans called ''Trotro'' that can offer you an affordable way to travel from town to town or city to city. A Trotro driver and a conductor popularly called "mate" in Ghana can offer you great help when going to other cities and towns or tourist sites. Some drivers can double as security to accompany you to the markets, clubs, restaurants and etc, that is if you will be able to pay their expenses.

The best places to hang out as a solo traveler are in decent places, don't try to hang out often in isolated places or move out at night to an unknown location.
